Every experience is shaped by clear safety standards, professional care, and a horse-first approach. Through attentive daily care, our horses remain calm, trusting, and affectionate, and are always happy to receive a gentle cuddle! This thoughtful approach creates a balanced and positive environment for both horses and riders.
Horse well-being comes first in everything we do. Through patient handling and thoughtful daily routines, our horses remain calm, trusting, and comfortable, allowing them to enjoy their work and interact confidently with riders.
Each horse is limited to a maximum of three rides per day and rotated regularly. This approach supports proper rest, long-term soundness, and relaxed temperaments suited to both beginners and more confident riders.
Our team includes two professional horsemanship trainers and 17 trained guides and stablehands. Each member is experienced in safe handling, rider support, and thoughtful horse management, contributing to a calm and well-organised experience.
All horses follow a structured care programme that includes regular vaccinations, deworming, and daily monitoring. Strict feeding times and a carefully balanced diet support digestive health and reflect our belief that prevention is the foundation of long-term care.
Guest safety is carefully considered throughout every experience. Safety helmets are provided for all riders, and high-quality, hand-crafted saddles and tack are used to support comfort, balance, and security for both horse and rider.
Our horses are supported by two specialised veterinarians, each overseeing different aspects of equine health. Regular health checks and ongoing supervision help maintain comfort, soundness, and overall wellbeing.
Zanzibar Horse Safaris operates from within Neptune Pwani Beach Resort & Spa in Pwani Mchangani, on Zanzibar’s northeast coast. As the only horse riding club on this stretch of coastline, we offer a purpose-built facility and carefully guided experiences shaped by the rhythm of the sea and the surrounding landscape.
This stable is home to 15+ well-cared-for horses, allowing us to manage workloads thoughtfully and match each rider comfortably. Our rides welcome both beginners and experienced riders, guided by a team of passionate Zanzibaris with extensive experience working in stables.
